The prophet in his own country (to the 120th anniversary of A.G. Vologdin’s birth)

Career of Corresponding Member of the USSR Academy of Sciences A.G. Vologdin (1896–1971) has been described in brief. His scientific heritage has been analyzed, and for the first time shown that, under the influence of V.I. Vernadsky, A.G. Vologdin proved to become a harbinger of new scientific trends: geological microbiology and bacterial paleontology.
